About the race

The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon starts on Yonge Street near Gerrard Street, just north of Dundas Square. Runners go north on Yonge to Bloor Street, west on Bloor toward Bathurst, then head south to the waterfront along Queens Quay and Lake Shore Boulevard. The course follows the lake east into the Beaches, turns around, and comes back downtown by way of Queen Street and Eastern Avenue to finish at Old City Hall.

The race began in 2000 and moved to the waterfront the following year. It is held on a Sunday in mid-October and is run with a half marathon, and since 2024 with a 5K the day before. The start moved to Yonge Street in 2025 because of construction on University Avenue, the former start line, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The poster draws the 2025 course in orange on a black street map of the city, with Lake Ontario in navy along the bottom, the race's TCS wordmark at the top right and the distance listed as 42.2 km. It is an 11x14 print. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added at the bottom right.
