About the race
The Scranton Half Marathon starts and finishes at PenFed Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium on Providence Road, with the finish on the stadium field. The opening miles run through the Green Ridge neighborhood. Around mile 5.5 the course enters the city center on streets such as Wyoming Avenue and North Washington Avenue, then heads toward South Scranton past the Scranton Iron Furnaces. At about mile 7.5 it joins the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, which includes a short crushed-stone section, before returning to the stadium.
The course is mostly road, with some rolling hills. The race is held in the spring, with the 2026 half marathon on Sunday, April 12 and a 5K the day before. A local news report called it a new race that sold out; the date it began was not found.
