The Rockaway Beach Half Marathon runs along the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, New York, a narrow strip of land with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and Jamaica Bay on the other. Listings for the Run Rockaway Beach series put the start on the Boardwalk at Beach 94th Street, with the route running west and east along the boardwalk and the streets beside it.
The race is a flat, seaside course, and the organizers run several half marathon and 5K dates through the warm months. Past editions turn around near Beach 124th Street in the west and out toward the 50s in the east before heading back to Beach 94th.
