About the race
The Ocean State Rhode Races marathon starts on Boston Neck Road (US 1A) in Narragansett and finishes by the North Pavilion at Narragansett Town Beach. In between, the course heads north along the west shore of Narragansett Bay, with a loop through Bonnet Shores and long stretches past farms and old stone walls, with water in view much of the way.
The race is run in late October, when the leaves along the route are turning. The marathon course is USATF certified and a Boston qualifier, and the day ends at the finish festival on the beach. It is a small race, and the directors reply to runners themselves.
This poster traces the course on a map of the Rhode Island coast, with Jamestown and the bay to the east and the race date set in the open water at the top right. White Coast puts a navy route on white land against deep teal water, and Navy Night sets a white route on navy land. Each one is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added, plus a bib number if you'd like one.
