Journal Sentinel Milwaukee Marathon
Harbor Drive to Humboldt Park, by way of Lake Park, the Oak Leaf Trail and the lakefront.
About the race
The Journal Sentinel Milwaukee Marathon starts on Harbor Drive at Henry Maier Festival Park, the Summerfest grounds, and heads north on Lincoln Memorial Drive to the East Side and Lake Park. The full marathon then follows the Oak Leaf Trail northwest to a turnaround in Glendale, comes back through Lake Park and runs down Lincoln Memorial Drive beside Lake Michigan. The last miles pass through Lakeshore State Park, under the Hoan Bridge and into the Third Ward, then on through Walker's Point and Bay View to the finish in Humboldt Park.
The race is run each April. It first ran in 2015 and came back in 2024 after several years away, with a point-to-point course that ends in Bay View. Late in the race there is a long downhill on Lincoln Memorial Drive, and the finish in Humboldt Park has beer and music waiting.
Our poster traces the full route on a street map of Milwaukee, with Lake Michigan in deep navy along the right edge. Multicolor draws the route in bands of green, gold, pink and violet with a white dot at every mile. Orange & Black uses a single orange line on a black street map, with the race date stacked down the side. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added.
