About the race

The Looking Glass 100K is a single large loop through the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. It starts at 4 a.m. from a field across from Davidson River Campground off FS 5069, near the Pisgah Ranger Station, and returns to the same field. The course is about 62 miles with roughly 10,600 feet of climbing, mostly on singletrack, with some grassy double track, gravel and a short section of pavement. Nine aid stations support the race, and the time limit is 20 hours.

The loop circles Looking Glass Rock and climbs to the high balds of Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain, both above 6,000 feet. It passes waterfalls and moss-covered streams, with stream crossings, and moves through several forest types, from hardwood coves to balsam woods. The race is run by Tanawha Adventures in mid-November, and the 2025 edition was on November 15.

The poster draws the runner's GPS track on a very dark map of the Pisgah area, with the town of Brevard faintly visible in the lower right. It comes in two layouts, Portrait and Landscape, both in orange and black. Each is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added above the distance line.
