26.2 miles
Eversource Hartford Marathon
From the State Capitol through West Hartford and South Windsor to the Bushnell Park arch.
About the race
The Eversource Hartford Marathon starts on Capitol Avenue in front of the Connecticut State Capitol. The course heads west into the neighborhoods of West Hartford and through a short stretch of Elizabeth Park, then comes back through downtown and crosses the Connecticut River on Founders Bridge. Marathoners follow the East Hartford side of the river north onto the rural town roads of South Windsor before turning back for the finish in Bushnell Park, just past the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch.
The race was first run on October 1, 1994, and it comes back to Hartford every October. Spectators line the streets of West Hartford, and the South Windsor miles have the feel of a back road in the New England countryside. After the arch, there is food and music waiting in the park.
Our poster traces the full 26.2-mile route on a street map of Hartford, from the loop through West Hartford to the long run north along the river. Choose Green & Navy, a bright lime route on a deep blue map, or Orange & Black, an orange route on a black map with the Connecticut River in blue. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name, finish time and race date added.
