Flower City Challenge
A downtown Rochester half marathon from Parcel 5, with the Genesee River on the map.
About the race
The Flower City Challenge is Rochester's spring race weekend. The half marathon starts and finishes at Parcel 5, a green space in downtown Rochester, New York, where the post-race party and athlete village are held. The course is USATF certified, and the official site describes it as running through southeast historic Rochester. A 5K covers more of downtown and the city's neighborhoods.
The race is run on a Sunday in late April. The weekend also includes a Kids half mile, and the Rochester Regional Health Flower City Half Marathon is the main event. Results are archived on the race site back to 2010.
The poster draws the half marathon on a black street map of Rochester, with the Genesee River running through the lower left and a white dot at the start downtown. The route is drawn in orange, the date is stacked down the left edge and the race name is set bottom right. It is an 8x10 print. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added above the distance line.
