About the race

The Eau Claire Marathon starts at Riverfront Terrace and finishes on Graham Avenue, both in downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The course loops out and back past Phoenix Park in the early miles, crosses the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers on a series of bridges, and spends much of the second half on the UW-Eau Claire campus, including the Blugold Mile. At mile 23.5 North Barstow Street hosts a block party, and the finish is a short push away.

The race was once based at Carson Park, with an uphill finish. It moved downtown in 2021, trading that climb for flatter roads. It is a USATF-certified, Boston qualifying course and is held on a Sunday in late April or early May.

The poster draws the course as a thin orange line on a black map, with the Chippewa River and its wide bends in deep blue running up the middle of the print and the downtown street grid at the bottom, where the start and finish dots sit. The date is stacked down the left side and the race name, distance and city sit at the bottom right. Each print is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added above the distance, plus a bib number if you'd like one.
