About the race

The Delaware Marathon starts and finishes at Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park in Wilmington, next to the Amtrak station. According to the race's own course text, the first 13 miles cross Brandywine Park, run along the parkways and through historic Wilmington neighborhoods, pass the tower in Rockford Park and go by Rodney Square downtown. Later miles follow the Jack Markell Trail toward New Castle before the return to the riverfront.

The race bills itself as the First State's original marathon. It is run in April as part of the Delaware Marathon Running Festival, is USATF certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifier, and historically 10 to 12 percent of its marathoners have qualified for Boston.

The poster traces the route in orange on a black street map of Wilmington, with the Delaware River in navy along the lower right, the date stacked down the left and the start and finish marked by a white dot on the riverfront. It is an 8x10 print. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added under the title.
