Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Grant Park to Grant Park through 29 neighborhoods, from Wrigleyville down to Bronzeville.
About the race
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon starts and finishes in Grant Park. From Columbus Drive the course runs through the Loop and River North, then north on LaSalle Street through Old Town and Lincoln Park to Lakeview and Wrigleyville before turning back south on Wells Street. The second half heads west through Greektown and the West Loop, then south through Pilsen and Chinatown to Bronzeville, where Michigan Avenue carries runners north to Roosevelt Road and the finish on Columbus Drive.
The modern race began in 1977 as the Mayor Daley Marathon. Its flat, looped course passes through 29 neighborhoods, each with its own crowd, and the race counts 1.7 million spectators along the way. The course has produced seven world records.
The poster traces the course on a street map of the city, with Lake Michigan along the right edge and the start and finish marked in Grant Park. It comes in four colorways: Blue & Red, Multicolor, Orange and Red. Each is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added under the title, plus a bib number if you'd like one.
