NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon
Two laps of Central Park on a December Saturday, with the Harlem Hill climb on each loop.
About the race
The NYCRUNS Big Apple Half Marathon is run entirely inside Central Park. The course starts on West Drive on the park's west side, circles the full loop twice with a little extra distance added, and finishes at the 72nd Street Transverse. It is a USATF-certified course, and the park's rolling hills, including Harlem Hill at the north end, come around twice.
The race is a December event, held on Saturday, December 14 in 2024 and on December 13 in 2025. Running two laps means you pass the same landmarks twice, the Reservoir, the Great Lawn area and the boathouse side of the park, with plenty of friendly faces in between.
Our poster draws the park loop in orange on a black Manhattan street map, with the Hudson River in navy along the left edge and the Reservoir and lakes in blue. The start and finish are marked with dots. The date runs down the top left, and the title, distance and park name sit at the bottom right. Each poster is designed by hand after you order, with the text you choose added under the title, such as your name and finish time.
