Beast of the East 100
Looping the trails of Crowders Mountain, both peaks included, in the 100K.
About the race
The Beast of the East 100 is a December mountain ultra at Crowders Mountain, near Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The start and finish line is the Crowders Ridge area at 130 Camp Rotary Road. The course strings together the Tower, Rocktop, Crowders, Pinnacle, Turnback, Fern and Ridgeline trails, summits both peaks of Crowders Mountain, and repeats the loop for the longer distances. Aid stations include Crowders Ridge, Wolf Base, the 161 Aid Station and Boulders Access.
The event is organized by Dirty Wolf Racing and offers a half marathon, marathon, 50 miler, 100K and 100 miler. The 100K has a 30 hour limit, and finishers receive a medal and a buckle. The 2025 race was held on Saturday, December 13.
The poster draws the runner's GPS track on a map of the Crowders Mountain area. It comes in two looks: Orange & Black, with an orange track on a black map with blue ponds, and White & Red, with a red track on a light gray street and park map. Each print is designed by hand after you order, with the runner's name and finish time added above the distance line.
For a hard day on the mountain, a printed map of the track is a fitting way to remember it.
